Swimming lessons are run for children / young people with additional needs via The Family Centre on Saturday afternoons at Oakham Cof E and Catmose College pools. Using both pools ensures all ages are catered for. The subsidised cost of a 30 minute lesson is £4. This is a friendly keep fit session held every Thursday at 8-9pm at the Family Centre followed by a drink and a chat with other like minded parents. Please contact Nicola Harries on njharries@hotmail.com for further details, dates and cost.

The club is based at Oakham CofE and runs on Saturdays from 11-12 am. Our first priority at the club is to have FUN and make new friends. The age group is 5 to 11 years (primary based).

At the club we work on agility, balance, co-ordination, flexiblity, strength and stamina. We do bench and beam work, gymnastics, trampolining, boccia, kurling, ball games, hoops, ribbons, ball games, team games......a bit of all sorts!

The club is aimed at children with both learning and physical disabilities : aspergers, dyspraxia, autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, down syndrome, deaf, blind and wheelchair users to name but a few. Please note this is an inclusive club so a brother / sister / special friend is welcome to come along too.

Parents are welcome to stay with their child in the hall, view from the landing, go and have a coffe in costas - on site or nip into town for a bit of shopping. The cost of the club is £1.50 payable weekly.

The SEN sessions are for children with both learning and phsical difficulties to include autism, aspergers, ADHD, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, deaf, blind, dyspraxia etc to name but a few. While we are on the trampoline we are working our way through the British Gymnastics trampoline awards level 1 to 10, for every level passed ther is a badge and certificate which can be ordered if you so wish for your child to show their achievement in a frame and wear their badge on their sports top.At the end of the 5 week block you will receive a letter stating which levels your child has passed. The sessions last for half an hour with 3 children (and 2 coaches) to the trampoline. The cost per session is £2.50 - so £12.50 for the 5 week block.

The sessions are planned to put children of similar age and ability together into time slots. If you would like to put your child name down for trampoling please contact me as soon as possible as spaces go VERY quckly.
